The design and quality is very impressiv
I design and fabricate custom quilt hangers, cabinet handles religious items from structural steel shapes and must get fast, accurate cuts to permit welding without a lot of setup time. This JET saw gave me that feature and more.I would recommend it highly for light to medium shop work.[...] I'll be back.

I'm quite pleased with the saw.
I fabricate metal projects and weld, I've always needed a horizonal bandsaw, I have a portable with a bench top stand for it, but couldn't cut anything but 90 degree's. This saw will do everything I need to do. I researched other brands looking at the breakdown manuals and decided on the Jet model because it looked to be manufactured and engineered better than other brands. Adjustments appeared to be simpler. I'm a firm believer in the kiss princible. Tom in MO.

Solid design and good quality
I design and fabricate metal sculptures. This saw makes accurate miter and square joints fast. I can produce my designs fast and with good quality using this saw. The only drawback is the vice design. It's hard to set-up angle joints and reproduce them in quantity plus it has limitations in the shape of stock used. Overall it's a fine saw for the money.

Good quality, cuts square out of the box
I bought this saw to support my newly found welding habit. Prior to this saw, most of my cuts were with a Harbor Freight abrasive chop saw. Thank saw worked ok I guess, but like all chop saws it was loud and messy. Also, it didn't provide the straightest of cuts.

I almost went back to HF (to be cheap) and get one of their horizontal band saws, but I have read too many reports of people having to spend significant amounts of time to get it to cut straight. (I went through this same issue with a tile saw I bought from HF.) I just didn't want to do this again. I would rather cut and weld then true up a saw. I have heard good things about Jet and decided to spend the extra $$$ and get a brand name tool. CPO's July 4th sale and free shipping was too good to pass up.

My neighbor and I put it together in about an hour. (Took our time.) There were a few things that took a bit to figure out, but overall they were very good directions. I did have to call their support line for something (a bolt was not getting tightening down all the way) and they suggested to add a washer. (There was no washer indicated in directions.) I did and it worked great! This is exactly why I chose a brand name. The support.

Firing up the new toy and letting it cut through steel was a great feeling!!! It is such a nice machine. I run through a few 1 1/4" steel tubing for practice. Probably about 5 cuts. A few days later I started on a project and started cutting through some thick hitch receiver material. Long story short, the teeth on the blade wore away! I have no idea what type of blade it was (or if I had the gravity setting properly) but either way, that blade did not last long. I just bought a Lenox bi metal blade and set up works great!

This size is perfect for the garage welder and I expect it will cut anything that I plan to weld. If you are looking, order this saw now and be happy!!!

Nice home shop addition
This band saw does just fine for me and the finish on the saw is clean and professional looking. I have a home machine shop and I use this saw to cut metal stock before machining. This saw cuts true, smooth and clean. The assembly and adjustments are easy. The only draw back I found is one of the leg bottoms had a bad weld, which poses no factor as I used this leg on the wheeled end of the saw. The saw is very stable for cutting and it doesn't take up a lot of room.

Good solid saw
[...] During adjustment for blade tension the upper bolt that holds the pulley stripped the threads. Threads on mounting block were good so I measured threads with thread gauge to replace bolt locally. I expected metric as bolt head used 12mm wrench, to my surprise they were 5/16 by 18 tpi!!! I am happy with saw as it is easy to use and makes nice square cuts.

Great Unit
Legs are a little weak for field use. However in a shop they would be fine. Great saw and fits the need for metal cutting in the field.

Is there an adjustment, so that the saw will cut square from top to bottom of material. I place a square on the bed, just touching the blade. Then raise the arm 6" and it is an 1/8" from square. It appears that the pivot rod is not parallel with the bed
