Freight Orders

Freight deliveries require a delivery time be scheduled and someone must be present at the time of delivery to inspect and sign for the merchandise. A representative from the freight carrier will call the phone number entered at checkout to schedule the delivery.

Liftgate Service

For freight deliveries, you have the option of adding a liftgate to your delivery. A liftgate is the device that lowers a product from the truck to ground level.

CPO recommends adding liftgate service for freight deliveries exceeding 100 lbs if you do not have a loading dock or fork lift at the delivery address. Additional charges may apply. The liftgate option will be presented during the checkout process.

Please note that liftgate service only ensures the product is removed from the truck. We recommend you have the additional help of two to four people to move the product to its desired location because drivers are not required to assist.

Requesting liftgate service after ordering may result in additional charges and delays.

  • J-8203K, 14-in Vertical Band Saw 230V 3Ph

    Q:

Saw is 230/460 3P. My shop is wired for 230V single phase.

What is the difference between single phase and 3-phase?

Can a three-phase motor be rewired to single phase without damage to the motor or performance?

    • A:

Single Phase power refers to two wire power circuits with one power conductor and one neutral conductor. Power flows from power conductor through the load to the neutral conductor. The output is 120V.

Dual Phase or Split Phase power is often incorrectly referred to as Single Phase. A Dual Phase power arrangement has two power conductors (120V, 120V) out of phase with one another and one neutral conductor. This arrangement provides (2) 120V single phase power circuits and / or (1) 240V dual phase power circuit. This is your shop's present electrical service.

Three Phase power has three power conductors (120V, 120V, 120V) out of phase with one another and one neutral conductor. This arrangement provides (3) 120V single phase power circuits and / or (1) 208V three phase power circuit. For 240V three phase power, your line service has to be 139V not 120V.

Three Phase power is balanced and if a machine requires Three Phase power, it is operating as a balanced load. It would not operate properly with a 230V unbalanced load. You do not have sufficient electrical service in your shop to run this piece of equipment.

      A:

Single phase system is when all the voltage of the source varies in unison. It can only power small motors and lighting fixtures.
Three-phase system has three circuit conductors with the same frequencies that can reach their peaks values at different times. It is used mostly in powering large motors and loads.
It's easier to answer this question the other way around, because the electricity generation, transmission, and distribution systems are all three-phase systems.

Three-phase alternating current is generated by alternators with three sets of coils, physically displaced by 120 degrees which, therefore, produce three separate voltages, which are displaced from each other by 120 electrical degrees.

There are three-phase, three-wire systems, which comprise three conductors, called 'line conductors', whose potentials are displaced by 120 electrical degrees. There are also three-phase, four-wire, systems which comprise three line conductors and a neutral conductor.

To obtain a single-phase system, a load is simply connected either between any two line conductors, or between any line conductor and the neutral conductor of a three-phase system.

It is not recommended to rewire a 3 phase moter to a single phase.
