Good product for light use
Works well, easy to use. I do not under stand why the main power switch does not shut of the conveyor. If you shut off the main power and walk away the conveyor is still running.

Many reviews stated that was very difficult to change the sandpaper on this machine. I really don't know what the big deal is as I have done it with no problem. You only drawback I can see with this machine is that you need to take off small increments of wood or else the motor will kick off. Overall I would say that this is a good machine for the price.

Perfect for segmenting turning blanks
I bought the Jet 10-20 primarily for flattening glue ups for segmented turining blanks. My lathe has a 12" capacity, so the 10" width capacity of the sander means I rarely need to flip the blanks. I generally take off 1/64" per pass, and the sander has handled this easilly at high feed speeds with 80 grit paper.

Belt tracking was easy to adjust following the instructions - I did initially over-adjust; let the feed belt make many revolutions before you judge your adjustments. Once adjusted, it has stayed right on the money.

I have not changed sandpaper yet, but I am sure the first few times will be a challenge, based on other reviews.

Overall, a great machine in a lightweight compact format that will do a great job if you respect its limitations.

I love this product! I recently had a stroke and was able to use this product very easily. Sands very smoothly and accurately. I only have use of my left arm and can operate this easily. When vacuum system is hooked up, it eliminates any dust.

Small, and for small project.
I bought it to thin=ckness some 4/4 6' boards.
it definitely cant handle them- I'm building a table with rollers to see if that helps it sand more evenly. It works great with smaller, lighter pieces. and at that price I'd still recommend it, as long as the buyer is aware of its limitations.

Love it!
I use this in my luthier work. Its perfect for my small one man shop. Mostly to think tonewoods. Some down to below .075". I have not had the belt tracking problem others seem to deal with. Maybe its the luck of the draw. I set up the tracking exactly as the manual said and have only had to make minor adjustments.

Don't waste your money on this sander.
I have been a professional woodworker for over 35 years. I have owned a number of pieces of woodworking tools and equipment thru the years. I still own a Jet oscillating sander I have owned for at least 15 years, I am quite happy with. This sander is a big disappointment. No matter what I do I can not get the lower drive belt to track correctly. I should have spent more money and purchase a better, more reputable piece of equipment. This is truly a piece of JUNK.. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!

Excellent machine except ,,,,
I just received it. The tool is well designed and thoughtfully laid out except for the ridiculous 'clamps' used to hold the sandpaper in place. This is a drum sander, so this truly aggravating design is appalling.

Worth Every Ounce of its Weight
I purchased the Jet 10-20 Plus as a small-shop solution for consistent thickness on soundboards, backs, and sides for guitars, ukuleles, and other stringed instruments.

I consider myself fairly frugal, and would much rather re-saw and thickness bulk lumber than pay the outrageous prices others charge for the same services. Before getting this Drum Sander I was using a modified spindle sander to get decent, but inconsistent thickness on pieces up to 3" wide. Handy, except that I needed 4-5" pieces just as often.

With the single-feed width of 10" on the Jet 10-20 Plus, I can re-saw and plane my wood, edge and glue as a book-matched set, then use this drum sander to produce the final piece at a precise thickness. Easily controlled in 1/64" increments, with speed control for the conveyor belt to account for wood density, I simply couldn't ask for more.

Jet 10" Thickness sander
The sander came set up and ready to use. All I had to do was uncrate it, set it on the bench and plug it in. Seems to be well made. I used it to sand some pen blanks and small turning pieces to size. worked very well for this. the IB says to not try and take more than 1/32" or so off at a time, and the sander will bog down and stop if you try and take off more than that at one pass. Even with the 80 grit belt, I got smooth pieces, and when I connect my dust collector to the sander I get zero dust. All in all, I am happy with this sander.
